Why
I love St. Clement (Jersey) - A walk down to Le Hocq beach
(note: includes sound track)
There is something called 'topophilia' - a love
of place. A few years ago, noticing that plots of land were being
bought and built on at an alarming rate, I decided to take a walk
along one of my favourite lanes to Le Hocq, and record a 'moment in
time'.
I uploaded it to UTube and you can view it below. The walk takes you down from the St. Clement's Inner Road down Le Hocq Lane to and across Le Hocq beach, one of our special bays on Jersey's south east coast and in the Ramsar Area. We have to be vigilant about each field and garden lost, or our identity and heritage will be gone forever. To find out more about Jersey's South East coast Ramsar Area, please visit the Save Our Shoreline Website, Jersey in Peril. |
